Trainee brewer positions are few and far between, but Brewpack has an opening. The Sydney based operation brews beer for a large number of customers as well as producing cider, soft drinks and RTDs and has an opening for an aspiring brewer.

JOB DESCRIPTION: TRAINEE BREWER (SYDNEY)

We have an amazing opportunity available for those looking for a hard-to-come-by, foot-in-the-door position in the exciting world of brewing craft beer! This role is perfect for an aspiring brewer looking to make a start in the commercial brewing industry or even for an experienced brewer to expand on their current skill set.

Brewpack is a family owned and run contract brewery and beverage manufacturer in Smeaton Grange. We have a broad customer base with a range of up to one hundred different products. The majority of our work is centred around brewing craft beer, but also includes some cider, RTDs and soft drinks.

In order to be successful in this role, it is expected that you would have some prior brewing knowledge particularly around the basics of the brewing process. Whether knowledge comes from formal training and/or a combination of homebrewing, self-taught, working in related areas etc is not so important. At the end of the day, if you are hard-working and enthusiastic, learn quickly, don't mind getting your hands dirty and are genuinely passionate about craft beer and brewing, then you might be the person we are looking for!

There is a wealth of brewing and technical knowledge and experience in the current team and they are ready and willing to share their expertise with the right person. You will be taught a wide range of skills, starting with keg line operations and the importance and application of sanitisation practices in the brewing and beverage manufacturing process, and then moving on to brewhouse operation, filtration and laboratory & QC analysis.

The brewing team currently operates 24 hours a day, so you must be able to commit to a rotating shift roster in order to be considered for this role. This role is fast paced and physically demanding but if brewing and craft beer is your passion, you will find this an extremely rewarding opportunity.

If you are excited about an opportunity to learn from, and alongside, likeminded people, please submit your cover letter and resume to amanda@brewpack.com.au.

Deadline for applications is May 19, 2017.
