JOB DESCRIPTION: TOUR GUIDES - MELBOURNE
Aussie Brewery Tours is looking to hire at least two people to work as casual/part-time tour guides with extra work in sales, marketing and events also available.
Our customers arrive at the start of their tour happy and excited, and why not, they are about to embark on an experience with one of Australia’s top ranked tour providers. It will be your job to surround yourself with these happy people and take them on a fun filled beer, cider & spirits
adventure.
When you are not out on tour there will be the opportunity to expand your work further and
immerse yourself in our business by taking on business to business sales, marketing, attending beer festivals or events and other ongoing projects.
Our current portfolio of products includes both day and night tours, tasting sessions and hosted events for both public and private groups. We tour urban Melbourne, the Yarra Valley and Mornington Peninsula, among other destinations. Group sizes range from two to 55 and you will be required to drive vehicles up to 28 seats as well as guide.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Safety inspections on tour vehicles.
- Hosting day and night time tours around Melbourne and its surrounding areas for local and international tourists, bucks & hen’s days, birthdays and corporate events (amongst others).
- Entertaining customers with your witty banter, amusing tales and amazing facts.
- Working with venue staff to ensure all products are run at a high standard.
- Hosting beer events – including dinners and showcases.
- Weekend, day and night tours, plus some public holidays.
- Maintaining the high standards that has established Aussie Brewery Tours as one of the top ranked tour providers in the country.
Work experience and qualifications:
- Must have held an Australian drivers licence for at least 18 months.
- Must have a good driving history.
- LR (or higher) licence preferred – if not, must be willing to get this licence.
- Beer & cider knowledge will be looked upon highly, however on the job training will be provided.
- Previous experience in tourism sales, performance art or tour guiding desired.
- Need to be flexible, reliable, relaxed and fun.
Salary will fit with industry rates and hours will range from 1-4 days a week. Must be able to work weekends and some public holidays, for both day and night tours.
