With breweries in both Margaret River and Port Melbourne, Colonial Brewing is working hard to get its beer into as many parts of the country as possible. Now the brewing company, which has been forging relationships outside the beer world, such as with Essendon FC, is looking to hire a National Sales Manager to help them achieve that goal.

POSITION DESCRIPTION – NATIONAL SALES MANAGER (MELBOURNE BASED)

The Role

We are expanding our national footprint and seeking a National Sales Manager to help us grow distribution across the country.  Responsibilities will include management of the Sales team, develop and maintain key relationships with stakeholders within the industry and development of sales strategies to support business objectives.

We are looking for a Melbourne based National Sales Manager with creative ideas who will live and breathe Colonial.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to)

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies
  • Assist the business with building growth targets
  • Lead and motivate nationwide sales team members to achieve goals
  • Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts
  • Negotiate and close agreements with national accounts
  • Monitor and analyse performance metrics and lead improvements
  • Prepare sales forecasts to assist the brewing team with production planning
  • Perform research and identify new potential customers and new market opportunities
  • Provide timely and effective solutions aligned with customer needs
  • Work with senior brewing team on new beer development and lead the market execution
  • Liaise with senior brewing team to ensure brand consistency and development   

Requirements

  • A passion for great beer
  • Proven experience as a sales manager in the craft beer industry, or the wider alcohol/FMCG industry
  • Experience in leading teams to great outcomes
  • Knowledge of CRM systems
  • An ability to understand and analyse sales performance metrics
  • A customer-first service attitude
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Willingness to travel as required for the role

Reporting & performance

This role will report jointly to the Colonial Leisure Group’s Operations Manager & General Manager. Performance will be measured against the responsibilities listed above.
