Job Description: Venue Manager
Freshwater Brewing Company is based on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, in the brewery & distilling hub that is Brookvale. Our brand aims to promote a positive lifestyle and culture with a focus on community in and around the beachy suburbs that surround us. As a brewery we have a focus on crushable, thirst quenching beers but being based in a brewing district our venue is a hub of so much more. From margies to sandos to coffee, we are a progressive thinking brewery that has some seriously exciting projects on the horizon - and we need a venue manager to take us to the next level.
We are looking for a strong candidate to sit on our leadership team. If you’re passionate about hospitality with strong commercial and strategic thinking to guide our amazing hospo team, we’d love to hear from you.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the day to day operations of the venue
- Commercials of running the venue
- Optimising the staffing and COGS
- Implement and maintain systems to ensure smooth and efficient food and beverage service
- Work closely with other departments to help company grow towards our goals
- Instill a consistent hospitality offering across the kitchen, bar and cafe
- Lead the kitchen staff to maintain and build a high quality of product
- Add to and build the culture around the key values that we hold
- Maintain a fun, safe and inclusive environment for both safe and the community
- Work with staff to build and develop the business
- Lead the venue staff
- Build enduring relationships with suppliers to support local businesses
- Conduct and organise regular training sessions between all departments to ensure a high level of product knowledge and level of service
- Generate initiatives to spark loyalty within the community and team
What we’re looking for
- Experience in hospitality in a Venue management role with Licensee Experience
- Drive to provide high quality service and experiences for patrons
- Have a high level of commercial acumen to drive the venue forward
- Ability to take initiative and set the tone for the team
- Someone with similar values in relation to our cultural and community views
- Drive to succeed and learn as part of passionate team
- Ability to organise and manage yourself and staff effectively
- Willingness to get involved in developing and growing a new brand
- Keenness to teach and inform staff and patrons in the world of beer
- Beer knowledge is NOT essential, however an eagerness to learn and ability to soak up information is critical
