Akasha have enjoyed a big 12 months, running a successful crowd-funding campaign, opening their Barrel Room venue in Leichhardt, and embarking on plans for a venue in Newcastle.

If you'd like to aid that growth, they're hiring an accountant to join them at their HQ in Five Dock. 


Founded in 2015 in Sydney, Akasha has helped spearhead Australia’s blossoming love affair with high quality craft beer, rapidly becoming one of the most celebrated and successful independent breweries in the country. We live by the statement that ‘Great beer is our everything’, crafting high quality beer that has won numerous awards and earned us the status as one of Australia’s most popular independent breweries.

Akasha is excited to seek an in-house accountant to help grow the business to the next level. This role reports directly to the CEO and your responsibilities will include:

  • Regular banking reconciliations.
  • Payroll and superannuation processing on a weekly basis.
  • Administration of our automated accounts payable systems and regular payment batches.
  • Maintenance of the expense management system including integration into our accounting systems. 
  • Preparation and consolidation of data from various systems for management reporting
  • Working with the CEO and management team by providing timely and accurate financial information on a regular basis, including sales, COGS and expense data against budget.
  • Preparation of the monthly Excise Return in a timely and accurate manner for review and submission.
  • Maintain state level can recycling scheme calculations and compliance.
  • Preparation of monthly BAS in a timely and accurate manner.

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • Degree qualification
  • 3 Years experience working in Tax & Accounting
  • A background in beer, wine, spirits and/or FMCG
  • Strong Experience in Xero & Quickbooks

Whilst not essential, the following skill sets would be highly regarded:

  • ERP – Ekos Brewmaster
  • Point of Sale – Kounta/Lightspeed
  • CRM – Rhino
  • Accounts Payable – Lightyear and Dext
  • Expense Management - Weel
