Anyone can have a birthday party. But Brouhaha is going a step further and having a sleepover. Yes, the Queensland brewery is set to turn one and has laid out a plan to celebrate in style.
Firstly, they've booked out the carpark outside their brewery complex so they can go big.
Secondly, they've invited a whole bunch of friends to come along with some beer. Their mates just happen to be from Your Mates, McLeod’s Brewing, Sunshine Coast Craft Beer Tours, Aether Brewing, Newstead Brewing, Brisbane Brewing Co and 4 Hearts – and they're all bringing a couple of versions of an American pale ale along for a friendly brewer's battle.
Thirdly, they've lined up their local pork supplier to put on a pig on a spit and, fourth, they've organised a load of party games and live music.
And, lastly, they've booked out the Maleny Showgrounds so those from further afield can come and pitch a tent in a field, stay and partake of all the merriment (if you do plan on staying, call the Maleny Showgrounds and quote “Brouhaha Birthday” to get a discounted price).
All up that's plenty of reasons for joining a brewpub we reckon has made as impressive a debut as any we've encountered in our years covering the Aussie beer scene as Matt Jancauskas and his team celebrate a year in beer.
