Beers Without Borders ft Bad Shepherd At Prancing Pony (SA)

It's a tough time for breweries in Victoria and members of the beer community in other states have been stepping up to help out.

The support from interstate mates is something we featured recently in our Postcards From The Edge series and South Australia's Prancing Pony are among those who've been quick to lend a helping hand.

On Friday, August 14, the Pony team is kicking off a showcase of beers from their friends at Melbourne's Bad Shepherd at their Adelaide Hills home.

The beers pouring include the brewery's cult favourite Hazelnut Brown, their American Pale Ale and the hazy double IPA, Double Juicy.

It's the first Beers Without Borders event at the brewery, with Alice Springs Brewing Company up next, and the latest in a series of events and campaigns by the Prancing Pony team to support those in need.

This has included assisting the farming community in drought stricken Queensland with the "No grain No beer" campaign, raising awareness and money for the bushfire victims through the Resilience Beer, and taking part in the global Brewgooders project to get clean water to Malawi.

Brewery co-founder Corinna Steeb says: "For us it’s been devastating to hear and see the closures all over the country, with Victoria being affected in such a cruel way. Naturally, we think of all the Victorian people and how they feel and while we can’t change the situation for them, we can at least look out for them and let them know that we care."
