Seven years ago, three mates named Brendan, Lachy and Darcy got together in Fremantle to brew a hoppy red ale.
The story could easily have ended there, but there's more, much more, to come.
Skip forward to 2018 and those three mates are no longer all in the same state, but their involvement with beer has remained and, in fact, evolved considerably.
Two of them are now head brewers, Brendan at 3 Ravens and Lachy at Ballistic Beer. Darcy, on the other hand, runs Fremantle bars Strange Company and Ronnie Nights.
To celebrate their long friendship, the brewers joined forces to brew the same beer again, only this time on a much larger scale.
The beer, named Dick Tracy, will be launched on the same day in two states, with the Victorian leg occurring at The Royston and Queensland's at Tippler's Tap and both featuring more beers from both breweries.
