UPDATE: DUE TO A DELAY WITH THE BEERS, THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED. REPLACEMENT EVENT HERE.
There's only a few beers out there with the power to pull beer geeks into long queues just for a taste. Founders Brewing Co's Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) is certainly one of them.
We imagine the brewery's CBS (Canadian Breakfast Stout) will have a similar effect. The beer was created when the Founders brewers found some bourbon barrels which were once full of maple syrup. Using the same base beer as the much-loved KBS, another imperial member of the Founders' family was born.
Bitter Phew will be treating Sydneysiders to a single keg of CBS, which will be tapped alongside a keg of 2017 KBS the folks at the Darlinghurst bar have been holding onto for an occasion such as this.
The event on January 20 promises to be less of a battle between two stouts and more of a tribute to all things Founders Brewing Co, with the rest of Bitter Phew's taps giving way to many of the brewery's other favourites.
The full beer lineup is to be confirmed, but will include:
- Canadian Breakfast Stout
- Breakfast Stout
- Imperial Stout
- Lizard of Koz
- Green Zebra
- Centennial IPA
- All day IPA
- Dirty Bastard
- Backwoods Bastard
