As the first days of summer 2018/19 tick by, another hoppy mid-strength – this time one that veers close to light beer territory in terms of ABV, serving up just one standard drink per 375ml flip top can – lands. It's BentSpoke's turn to throw their hat into this ever busier area of the local beer landscape – see our article on the rise of mid-strengths here – with Easy creating a vibe before you've even put the beer to your lips thanks to its sea-meets-sand colour scheme and the line drawings of corked hats, koalas eating gum leaves, frothies, fish and surfboards wrapped around each can.
Once you get to the liquid itself, it's fair to surmise there's been a fair amount of late-hopping thrown at this one, with plenty of tropical fruits and zesty citrus peel aromas leading the way. Light, fruity hop flavours lead the way flavour wise too, with little in the way of anything sweet or malt derived to distract your attention, while that fruitiness sticks around once the bitterness has subsided too. Indeed, so light is it on its feet, once it's completed its refreshing sweep across the palate, it finishes pretty much as it started, with a waft of aroma.
