It's the year of 4.7 per cent summer ales! OK, perhaps that's a little strong an assertion, but hot on the heels of Mountain Goat's 4.7 per cent Summer-in-a-can comes a Summer Ale from WA champs Feral. A year in development, it's going to be the latest addition to their permanent range (making it summer all year round) and is the first release to feature the new branding that will soon appear across all their beers. It's a golden, lightly filtered ale that has a low bitterness but retains the brewery's signature floral American hop aroma. They won't tell us what hops are in there, but whatever they are they're responsible for tropical fruit and citrus aromatics in a beer designed with lazy, hazy days in mind.
