As demand has grown, alcohol-free beers have become increasingly varied and at The Coastal Brewing Co, their entry into the world of booze free brewing has shown that anyone looking to avoid alcohol can still have choice. The Dalman Street range has a distinct look and life to the Forster brewery's wider range and the name stems from the brewery's street, which also means "bountiful" and isn't just a nod to the beauty of their coastal home, but to the full-flavoured nature of their non-alc beers too. The brewery say their decision to make them followed a continual uptick in while they've brewed the beers after a lot of research and finding the right equipment to utilise an apporach where membrane filtration and separation technology holds onto the beer's flavour while removing the alcohol.
All that brings us to the two quite different, inaugural beers. Aussie Lager is the kind of beer you can’t help but feel has been drunk at countless local pubs for decades thanks to its crystel clear and golden orange pour that provides a bready malt flavour along with slightly earthy hop notes and a substantially bitter bite. The West Coast IPA meanwhile is there for those seeking more modern hops and in this case, they largely cast a citrus, pine and berry shadow. As a more old school IPA, it's a little malt led but any sweetness is kept in check by a bitter finish.
