Adam Sheehan was inspired to start a brewery while running a High Country bar. Late in 2021, after overcoming a series of challenges and a name change from Outlaw Brewing to Five Aces, he finally opened the doors of his Gippsland brewpub.
The Yarragon Ale House has been serving drinkers and homebrewers in Gippsland for 15 years. But, following a major refit it's been reinvented as a 15-tap bar and bottleshop that wouldn't be out of place in Brunswick or Collingwood.
Some thought they'd have to put Great Northern on to survive. Nine hundred craft beers through their taps later, it looks like the TapHouse Townsville crew backed the right horse after all.
At the end of 2019, Bandolier Brewing opened the doors and gave the people of Warragul a brewery of their own. This year might not have turned out how they expected but those locals helped them survive two waves of COVID.
