Job Description: Assistant Brewer
Feral Brewing Company is currently looking to add an Assistant Brewer to their expanding brewing production team. The successful applicant for this entry level position will need to have an unyielding passion for producing and packaging beer of the highest quality. Brewing experience and/or a brewing education would also be highly favourable to any application.
Responsibilities
Assist the production team in the daily tasks of brewing, cellaring, filtration, quality control, bottling, kegging and warehousing operations.
Maintain hygiene standards throughout the brewery; including cleaning floors, cleaning and maintaining packaging machinery and warehousing.
Assist packaging when required, which will include stacking cartons onto pallets and kegging.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work safely and have the physical capacity to perform the manual tasks associated with the position
- Adhere to Safe working practices
- Attention to detail, well organised and good time management
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated to complete set goals each day
- An ability and willingness to learn new skills and a desire to be mentored and coached by other team members
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of relevant computer applications, such as computerised control panels and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to operate to a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
- Ability to work as part of a broad team of people including brewing, sales, marketing, logistics and hospitality operations
- Ability to work shifts between the hours and 5am and 7pm
Ideal Candidates
Excellent workplace behaviour, including strong teamwork, integrity and consistency
Some commercial brewery experience is preferable
Formal brewing qualifications is preferable
Relevant university education and/or trade skills will be highly regarded
Forklift Licence is essential
