Hobart Brewing Co is a key player among the breweries bringing local beer to Australia's second oldest capital city.
They also run a pumping venue on the city's waterfront and are looking to hire someone to run it.
JOB ALERT: VENUE MANAGER
We love working with good people and are now looking for a great venue manager to head up our brewery taproom and functions.
You will be an excellent team player and communicator, organised and able to coordinate a variety of our operations related directly to our taproom and regular functions.
Knowledge and passion for the independent beer industry is important and must be willing to learn about our large range of beers all brewed onsite.
You will also assist with our various teams on major events, beer focused functions, beer launches, and brewery tours. Being able to work well and collaboratively with our events and brewing teams is paramount to the role.
This is a full-time role.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the taproom including looking after and supervising our bar team, rostering, inductions, training and providing feedback to staff for improvements
- Ensuring excellent customer service at all times
- Managing our weekly functions including responding to all enquiries
- Ensuring compliance with food safety and RSA compliance
- Provide assistance and feedback on brewery events
- Control operational costs and wastage
- Bar recruitment
- Good computer skills and implement our policies and protocols.
Skills and abilities required:
- Proven experience as a Bar/Venue Manager
- Extensive beverage knowledge, especially beer styles and service
- Familiarity with point of sale software
- Strong leadership, motivational and people skills
- Financial management skills
- R.S.A approved and high level of understanding for compliance
- Cool, calm and collected when it's really needed!
