Few breweries have a home quite like Homestead. Sharing a site with Mandoon Estate winery in the grounds of the Swan Valley's original homestead, it's a brewpub operation that can welcome thousands of guests in a single weekend at busy times.

JOB DESCRIPTION: HEAD BREWER
Homestead Brewery is looking for an experienced and passionate Head Brewer to join the team. Homestead Brewery is located within the prestigious grounds of Mandoon Estate, in the Swan Valley, Western Australia.
The brewery is a 3 vessel 20hl Kaspar Schulz semi-automated kit, with 6 x 40hl fermenters.
The role entails:
- Wort production
- Fermentation and yeast management
- Filtration
- Packaging (keg only)
- CIP and manual cleaning
- Cider production
- Maintenance of all brewing equipment and ancillaries
- Stock forecasting and production scheduling
- Inventory management
- Liaise with sales reps and coordinate deliveries
- Thorough documentation and record keeping
- Cleaning and maintenance of beer dispense equipment
- Staff management
- Monthly management reporting
- Developing seasonal release beers
- Hosting brewery tours
- Representing the brewery at special events
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Prior experience in a head brewer role
- Passion and drive to create great beer
- Very high attention to detail
- Ability to identify and resolve brewing faults
- Computer literacy and confident in the use of MS Office
- Strong management skills
- Experience troubleshooting brewing equipment failures
- Forklift licence
- Formal brewing qualifications will be advantageous
