Kooinda is one of Melbourne's longest running breweries, one that started out in a shed on a suburban driveway.
If you want to lead all things beer for the West Heidelberg operation, now could be your chance: the brewery is currently hunting for a new head brewer.
JOB DESCRIPTION: HEAD BREWER
Kooinda is on the lookout for a new Head Brewer. This integral role allows for professional growth and, importantly, input in shaping the future of Kooinda. We’re looking for the right person to make a positive and lasting impact on the brewery.
We’re a small team and this is a hands on role ideal for someone with a can-do attitude looking to step up to a new level of responsibility.
As head brewer your duties will include:
- Production planning
- Inventory management of raw materials, services and product packaging
- Wort production
- CIP, yeast handling, beer clarification, carbonation and packaging
- Development and keeping of process documentation (online)
- Optimising beer recipes
- Training and developing brewery staff to perform tasks independently, safely
- and to expected standards
- Equipment maintenance
- Excise reporting
- New product development
- Be an ambassador for our brand
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in commercial brewing (minimum of 1 year)
- Brewing qualification (which will be highly regarded)
- Forklift licence
