There aren’t many breweries in Victoria thathave as much distance between them as Noodledoof and Good Land Brewing. But despite the five hour drive between Koroit and Tralagon, the two breweries still find time to not only be friends, but to brew a beer together.
Over summer, Good Land popped into Noodledoof’s backyard for a spot of foraging where they picked up some correa alba (a native shrub common to coastal areas in the country’s south-east) and saught out lemon myrtle and desert lime. But searching the shore for ingredients was just a start, with the collaborators also taking a dip in the ocean to grap some bucketloads of the finest seawater they could find to make Bush Citrus Gose a beer with plenty of salinity to match its underlying sourness. When it comes to citrus, the beer walks a line between flavours of actual lemon and lime fruit while nudging into lemonade territory as the myrtle and correa alba bring vibrant and distinct floral tones.
