Badlands Australian Inland Ale

I'm not sure about you, but the words "Australian Inland Ale" had me picturing something pretty old school and big brewery-esque: a beer Badlands might have created for visitors not interested in any of their fancy muck. Yet, how wrong I was.

What it reminded me of was an American pale ale from an earlier era of craft beer. Southern hemisphere hops bring the orange citrus while specialty malts lay down a pretty full-bodied, slightly sweet caramel base. The Aussie interior via the US circa 1994, perhaps.
