Black Arts Brewers & Blenders, the barrel-aged beer specialists based in Williamstown in Melbourne's west who also produced ciders, meads and spirits, are closing down.
In a note posted to fans, co-founder Josh Murnane said the best part of the nine-year journey had been chatting with fans, which there's still time to do as the barrel room remains open on Saturdays for the moment.
He'd put the business on the market earlier in the year, prior to taking the decision to bring to an end close to a decade making some of the finest barrel-aged beers in Australia.
You can also grab the last of their stock here, and read Josh's message below.
Media Release: Goodbyes are never easy
I write to you today with some sad news. We’re officially closing Black Arts down.
It’s been 9 glorious years of chasing my passion of making delicious weird and wonderful beverages. What started with slow barrel-aged beers morphed into a love of all things fermentation, adding ciders, spirits and meads to the repertoire.
I’ve enjoyed every single moment of it. The best part though, has always been meeting and chatting with you all. That’s what I’ll miss the most.
We’ve added all our remaining stock online, and discounted most of it up to 50%. There’s not a lot left, so go grab your favourites while they’re still available.
I’ll still be opening the barrel room most Saturdays from 2pm to 6pm. But check Instagram just to confirm I’m not needed at home. Drop by for a drink. It would be nice to see all your faces, one last time.
Thanks for everything,
Josh
