When Range announced they were closing their Abbotsford bar in June, they said it would allow them to focus more on hospo in their hometown. And now their first new opening is close, with Rays by Range set to open in late September.
The new corner bar will join their Newstead HQ, function space The Bethnal, and Rosalie bar Patio by Range, bringing more of their sought-after and award-winning beers to another Brisbane 'burb.
We'll head along to check it out and bring you the full story closer to opening. For now, you can read more in the media release below.
Coming Soon: Rays, Camp Hill, a sun-drenched corner bar by the Range Brewing Crew with 10 taps of Range’s award winning beers is opening just in time for Summer.
One of Australia’s most decorated breweries will open their second Brisbane-based bar, Rays by Range, on 27th of September, 2024, in Camp Hill.
After the rapid success of their Rosalie bar Patio, the founders of Range Brewing are excited to announce the second iteration of a neighbourhood bar opening within the Martha Street district, Camp Hill, this September.
“When we opened Patio, we wanted to create a place where the community could come together, relax, and enjoy the simple pleasures of good food and drink. Rays is a natural extension of the Patio, and the next step in that journey,” says Gerard Martin (pictured above right), Co-Founder of Range Brewing.
“The blend of indoor and outdoor spaces, along with a curated food menu that balances what our guests already love with exciting new dishes, means we’re creating another place that locals can call their own.”
The Range team have a knack for finding sun-drenched venues that celebrate the best of Brisbane life and turning them into humming, local watering holes for the surrounding community. Now a signature style for the hospitality group, Rays is a neighbourhood bar that’s all about soaking up life’s ordinary joys – warm sun rays on your back, a cold drink in the afternoon, catching up with mates.
When the opportunity arose in Camp Hill, founders Gerard Martin and Matt McIver (above left) dove head first into this new venue ahead of summer.
Construction began almost immediately with the vision of a bright, sun-drenched, welcoming corner bar with the same feel as Patio while catering to Brisbane’s South Side. For the first time, the talented team behind these brands is inviting the community along for the journey, documenting and sharing every step of Rays' build and opening on their social media channels.
“We've been so humbled by the support from the local community at Patio, and seeing so many regulars become part of the family in just one year has been amazing,” says Matt McIver, Co-Founder of Range Brewing.
“At Rays, we wanted to build on that same sense of community, while offering a space that reflects the unique character of Camp Hill and Coorparoo. These neighbourhoods share that same warmth and charm as Paddington, and we’re excited to bring our take on a local watering hole to this part of town.”
