Cabal Update - 17.2.17

Beer festival season is not over yet, and the Crafty Cabal has got you well and truly covered. Throw in some tasty CANimals and a chance to meet a whole load of brewers, and February is proving itself to be one hell of a month for Cabalistas.

Melbourne BeerFest 2017

The Melbourne BeerFest returns to Catani Gardens in St Kilda next month, featuring 65 stalls from beer and cider producers, masterclasses, food stalls and plenty of entertainment.

We've got more than 30 day tickets to give away to the festival on 4-5 March, valued at $25 each. If you've not done so already, throw your name in the draw in your Cabal account, let us know whether you'd like a ticket to the Saturday or Sunday session, and we'll announce winners on February 24.

If you are yet to sign up to The Crafty Cabal, the first ten sign ups with a VIC postcode after February 7 will automatically receive weekend double passes worth $70 each for free! At time of writing, there are five of these left. So, if you and a mate are planning on heading along, grab one before they've gone and you'll then have 12 months more of exclusive events, deals and giveaways to dive into.

Sydney Events

We're just nailing down the final parts and ordering some goodies for our Modus Operandi event. If you want the best chance of being there, don't forget to register your interest now as we'll notify those by email once it becomes available.

And, in the past 24 hours, we've locked in another exclusive event in Sydney for Cabal members only – a chance to peak inside and sample beers of a unique new brewery before it launches. Watch this space...

Meet The Brewers At The Good Beer Week Gala Showcase

Fancy joining us for a trade session tasting before the Good Beer Week Gala Showcase is open to the public? We've got 20 spots open for Cabal members to attend the trade session from 2pm until 4pm on Thursday 16 March, giving you the very first opportunity to get your hands on the official program for Good Beer Week 2017 and to chat to brewers and sample their wares – for free – before the public arrives.

What's more, we'll be hosting an exclusive Meet the Brewers session with a couple of our favourite brewers just for you too. Enter the ballot in your Cabal account now, and we'll select winners on February 28. If you're keen to buy tickets to the public sessions running from 5pm until 9pm, you can do that here.

Heaps Of Hops To Home

Hops To Home have got you covered if you're keen for some tasty cans of beer this week. They've got six packs of Hop Nation and Old Wives Ales mixed sixes for $99.95 or, if you're stinging for some Kiwi hops, they've got eight packs of brews from Funk Estate, featuring their It's A Pearler Australian IPA, It's A Doozy IPA, and It's A Beaut APA, for just $89.95.

With the Hops To Home team being the decent sorts that they are, shipping is free for Cabal members, so jump on it before all the packs are gone! (Just three of each left at time of writing)

Free Beer!

We've got some new offers launched in the past couple of weeks.

  • South Australian Cabalistas can head down to the Westside Massive in Semaphore on February 23 for the Woolshed tap takeover, and score a complimentary schooner of any Woolshed beer. While you're there make sure to try the new Tribute Red IPA, and grab your raffle ticket for a bottle of their upcoming imperial stout, The Bunyip.
  • Head to the launch of Mountain Goat's Hashtag "hop hash" IPA tonight and your first pot is free. And, you'll get a free first pot of every new beer Goat launches at the brewery, which is pretty much every Friday.
  • A Point Of Liquor in Mitcham has supercharged its offer for Cabal members. Out goes the 10% off mixed sizes; in comes 20% off mixed dozens. Enjoy!

Canberra Craft Beer & Cider Festival Winner

We had a pack of six tickets to give away to one lucky Cabalista, so they can get a group together for the Canberra Craft Beer & Cider Festival on Saturday, March 18.

Featuring more than 100 beers from the likes of BentSpoke, Sydney Brewery, Pact Beer, Wayward Brewing and more, the festival will be held in the gardens of the Mercure Canberra and Steve Levien, AKA Cabalista CCVI, will be there with five mates. Enjoy!

Looking ahead, keep your eyes peeled for exclusive events and offers at High Country Hops, the Fresh Hop Festival in Tasmania and Brewsvegas, where we'll be lavishing good times on Cabal members at Pint of Origin venues.
