Hawke’s Brewing Co was launched in April 2017 by former prime minister Bob Hawke. Having launched on tap in Melbourne in June, with a beer designed by trophy-winning ex-Colonial Brewing Co head brewer Justin Fox, the team at Hawke’s is now looking to hire a sales rep to make the Melbourne market their own.

JOB DESCRIPTION: SALES REP (VIC)

Hawke’s Brewing Co. is a beer company created in conjunction with Australia’s former Prime Minister and the nation’s favourite beer swiller, Bob Hawke. The company also has a charity partnership with Landcare Australia, to which Hawkie has passed on all of his royalty share.

Day one of business saw our tinnie printed across the front page of one of the nation’s biggest newspapers, and since then it’s been a whirlwind of enquiries, orders and punters around the country looking to get their hands on our first product, Hawke’s Lager. And now, with another release in the wings, we’re looking to add a Melbourne sales rep to our growing team.

You’ll need to...

  • Chase new business to help growth.
  • Maintain existing client base.
  • Understand the brand and help build it by getting it in front of the right people (inc. influencers).
  • Paint the town Hawke’s – in-venue visibility and awareness of product and brand is key.
  • Get product into punter’s hands.
  • Help strategically set-up the VIC market to provide a building block for the future.

So, you must… 

  • Be passionate about beer (particularly ours!) – part of the role is to educate and get trade and punters stoked on our products and brand.
  • Know the industry – the more you know about how things work in our industry the better your chance of being set up for success.
  • Know the Melbourne market – there’s no city quite like it. Having an intimate knowledge of what makes things tick in Melbourne is crucial.  
  • Understand the role. Previous sales experience is a big advantage.
  • Become a familiar face that our trade loves to see walk through the door. We’re looking for a friendly, down-to-earth operator.
  • Be keen as mustard. In addition to the typical sales role you'll be expected to socialise with punters, attend tastings and help us activate the odd event/party etc.
  • Have a valid driver's licence.

The role is part-time (3 days) or full-time (5 days), dependant upon the needs and experience of the applicant.
