Eagle-Bay-4 Job Description: GENERAL MANAGER

Eagle Bay Brewing Co is a family-owned and operated business which includes a microbrewery, wine production, cellar/brewery door and busy 250 seat family restaurant, located on Eagle Bay Road, Eagle Bay (5 minutes drive from Dunsborough). 

At Eagle Bay Brewing Co, we make our own beer, wine and cider, which is available at our Eagle Bay venue and through wholesale distribution.

Eagle Bay Brewing Co is essentially two businesses; a restaurant and cellar/brewery door (retail business) and a production brewery (wholesale business). At present, these two business areas share business support services such as administration, marketing and accounts.

As General Manager, you would be responsible for overseeing the management of the retail business and shared business services, reporting to, and acting on behalf of the Eagle Bay Brewing Co Board of Directors. You would also have a strategic role in the wholesale business as part of the leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grow the profit of the business on a sustainable basis.
  • Progress continual improvement in restaurant and brewery offering.
  • Improve efficiencies in the business including cost management.
  • Communicate and report on the business performance to the Board of Directors.
  • Make timely decisions, which are in the best interests of the business, on behalf of the Directors on a day-to-day basis.
  • Coach staff to ensure they reach their full potential.

Other Responsibilities

  • Assist with the cost-benefit analysis and project management of any new projects.
  • Provide strategic input to the manufacturing and wholesale business.
  • Provide direction in marketing and administration.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, contractors and strategic partners.
  • Oversee the management of employee relations, including the appointment of key positions.
  • Develop, revise and / or implement new policies and procedures.
  • Manage the business within the regulatory environment.

Summary Employment Terms

  • Full-time or permanent part-time salaried position (subject to a 3 month probationary period).
  • Must be an Australian resident to apply.
  • Preferred start date is approximately February or March 2014.
  • Hours are negotiable, likely to be within normal office hours (Monday to Friday).
