There's been plenty of focus on the South Australian beer scene in the past couple of years as the number of breweries and beer venues has exploded.

One of the breweries to predate the latest growth spurt is Barossa Valley Brewing, which this year celebrates a decade of brewing in the heart of wine country.

It's seeking a couple of people to join the team at its popular home in Tanunda: a head chef and restaurant manager.

JOB DESCRIPTION: HEAD CHEF

Barossa Valley Brewing (BVB) is looking for a Head Chef to manage their busy and vibrant kitchen. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for great beer and wonderful fresh local produce.

Reporting to the Venue Manager, you duties will include:

  • Menu creation
  • Staff training and management
  • Managing costs
  • Maintaining a fun and energetic working atmosphere

The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Thursday to Sunday, 12pm to 10pm, though covers may extend to seven days in the future. There is plenty of scope for role outside the hospitality side of the business.

JOB DESCRIPTION: RESTAURANT MANAGER - 2IC

Barossa Valley Brewing (BVB) is looking for a manager to assist managing their vibrant Brasserie. This is the perfect opportunity for those interested in learning all aspects of the craft brewing industry. You will be critical in the management of the restaurant but will also have exposure to brewing, recipe development, marketing and sales.

Reporting to the Venue Manager, you duties will include:

  • High levels of customer service – servicing local customers, tourists and reviewers
  • Staff Management (in absence of Venue Manager)
  • Management of staff rosters
  • Venue open & close
  • Ordering and stock tracking
  • Promoting a safe workplace
  • The interest in & ability to learn the language of the brewery

The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner Thursday to Sunday, 12pm to 10pm, though covers may extend to seven days in the future. There is plenty of scope for a role outside the hospitality side of the business.
