Become a Partner in Bulli Brewing

This posting is more than 1 year old

Bulli Brewing has been bringing local beer to Unanderra, south of Sydney, since the brewery first fired up in March 2018.

Until now, Mick Peloquin has been running the operation on his own but he's keen to change that and bring some new blood into the business. Here's what he's looking for in investors.

Invest in Bulli Brewing

Bulli Brewing has been a few years in the planning and building and, for the most part, it's been the work of a one man band, Mick Peloquin. Now that the brewery is up and running, Mick's keen to take find a new business partner or partners to become a part of Bulli.

“We have all the basics covered and a lot of opportunity to grow the business, but I can’t do everything,” Mick says.

With experience in brewing, Mick has a good handle on running that side of the business but is keen for investors to take over other aspects of running a brewery, particularly the marketing, sales and digital media side of the business.

Seeking Sales & Marketing Partner

The partner role includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Manage Existing Accounts
  • Develop new customer relationships
  • Weekly sales calls to venues
  • Develop and Manage Social Media Content
  • Develop & Promote our Brand
  • Manage & Develop Website Content
  • Develop & Managed Labelling & Packaged Product
  • Manage CDS – Container Deposit Scheme
  • Develop & Promote Events
  • Manage our Attendance at Festivals

What you bring to the table:

  • Firstly you need to love and believe in Craft Beer
  • Organised Self Starter
  • Social Media Guru
  • Sales Experience, preferably in beer or other beverage
  • Communicator
  • Relationship Builder
  • Reliable Vehicle and Full Driver's Licence
  • Initially you can start part-time, increasing your time as you are building the revenue

Further business opportunities

Up until recently, our on-site café was running from early morning till late afternoon, Monday to Friday, but recently the operator pulled out. It means the brewery opportunity might suit someone with a background in hospitality who wants to also run the café and bring both business units into one. There is no shortage of opportunity here for the right person.

Having been part of a business that was sold several years ago, Mick is aware that seeking partners often leads to a total sale. While that is not his goal, if it turns out to be the best option for the business to move forward he is prepared to stand back. As a turnkey brewery, there's plenty of potential for anyone who is currently gypsy brewing to take over the space.

Financing Your Participation / Ownership

We are not desperate for a cash injection, so a range of flexible financing options are possible. While some financial contribution upfront is preferred, vendor financing, ‘Sweat Equity’ is feasible. The total cost on the build, fit-out and equipment is estimated to be $300,000 including the café, but finding the right person for the business is more important.
