Job Description: ASSISTANT BREWER

Bright Brewery is an award-winning and proudly independent brewery, bar and restaurant, producing MountainCrafted beers in the spectacular alpine town of Bright, Victoria.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Bright Brewery is seeking an Assistant Brewer to join our team. We are looking for a passionate self-starter, capable of working both individually and as part of a small team. While experience in a brewing environment is valuable, we are willing to train the right person who shows motivation and shares our company values. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a desire to learn and excel in a brewing career.

Reporting to the Head Brewer, the Assistant Brewer will be responsible for all aspects of production including wort production, cellar duties, packaging operations and logistics. The right candidate will be able to effectively multi-task, problem-solve, maintain a clean and sanitary workspace, and have a positive attitude.

Key tasks: 

  • Wort production
  • Cellar work and sanitation
  • Packaging
  • Lab work
  • Record Keeping
  • Raw material stock management
  • General brewery duties including cleaning and equipment maintenance
  • Recipe development and designing new beers.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

The ideal candidate will have experience in a production environment or relevant training for a career in brewing.

Those without relevant experience should demonstrate other skills they can bring as a trainee brewer.

WORKING AT BRIGHT BREWERY

This is a full-time, permanent position that will involve varied hours, weekend work and public holidays on some occasions.

A competitive remuneration package is offered for the right applicant, including:
