Nostalgia can be a beautiful thing, so come drink it in at Carwyn Cellars on January 25 as they host an oddly circuitous celebration to the worlds of local beer and music.
First and foremost on the agenda is Feral, the legend and longtime darling of the indie beer world that was sold to Coca-Cola before being bought back to independence last year. This will be the first time their beer has returned to the taps and shelves of Carwyn for ages, so they're hitting it hard with a hard-hitting lineup:
- 'Hop Hog' - American Pale Ale
- 'Biggie Juice' - IPA
- 'War Hog' - West Coast IPA
- 'Nailraiser' - Juicy IPA (Feral x Nail collaboration)
- 'Porko Rosso' - Sherry Barrel Aged Red Ale
- 'Maple BBA Boris' - Imperial Stout
Keen observers will note that January 25 is the day of the GABS Hottest 100 beers countdown, and that the aforementioned Hop Hog was the winner of the poll in 2012, 2013 & 2014. So, to cary on the theme, they'll be taking the opportunity to tap other past winners too, from the 2020-2023 era, in the form of BentSpoke's Crankshaft IPA and Mountain Culture's Status Quo Pale Ale. Chuck in $10 pints of Fox Friday Pale Ale all day long, and It's quite the delicious and trophy-laden lineup – perfect fodder to enjoy while they stream the Crafty Pint's own GABS Hottest 100 countdown livestream.
And given the day also coincides with the much loved/maligned Triple J Hottest 100 Countdown, they'll be streaming all the hits and controversy for your listening pleasure from midday.
