Those lucky enough to have wrapped their lips around the first two collaborative Dark Star releases from La Sirène and Starward will be well aware of the possibilities on offer when the brewery's beloved cacao, hazelnut and vanilla stout, Praline, has been aged in the distillery's whiskey barrels. So set your palate to pleasure mode as the third release in the series, Dark Star 3.0 prepares for its launch.
The beer itself is essentially the same as last time, but older and therefore quite different. The first Dark Star spent six months in barrel, the second was in for twelve, and this third edition a generous 36 months; if you've changed in the last three years, you can bet this beer has too.
If you'd like to be amongst those to have a first taste, you can join La Sirène founder Costa Nikias and Starward head blender Jarrad Huckshold from 6pm on September 13 at Bar La Sirène for a glass and a chat. They'll also be hosting a showcase of select whiskies from Starward, and you'll be able to grab some Dark Star 3.0 for your cellar.
