A Very Kelly Christmas at The Bob Hawke Beer & Leisure Centre

Nobody should ever need a reason to visit the uniquely wonderful Bob Hawke Beer & Leisure Centre in Marrickville, but if you did this might help...

Australian icon and creator of the country's greatest Christmas song, Paul Kelly, is heading there on December 19 for a fundraiser MC'd by the team from The Betoota Advocate. He approached the Hawke's team after learning his name was among those on the venue's "Who We Would Like to Have a Beer With" honour board.

A Very Kelly Christmas will feature an intimate performance by Paul and guests, as well as a climate-focus panel, Undo the Dumb Things, presented by Groundswell.

“Paul Kelly has always been high on the list of Australians that Nathan and I would love to have a beer with,” says Hawke’s co-founder David Gibson. “Paul has created the soundtrack to so many of our lives, while continuing to be a passionate voice in the fight against climate change and our collective responsibility as Australians to protect our beautiful environment and way of life.

"We’re humbled that Paul has chosen The Bob Hawke Beer & Leisure Centre to bring some of his biggest fans together at Christmas, as we celebrate some important messages over good music, good conversation and of course, a few good beers.”

Guests will be able to bid for money-can’t-buy prizes to be raffled off on the night, with all proceeds going to Landcare Australia.

Access to tickets is exclusively via ballot for fans who purchase from Paul Kelly's Christmas Store. The competition to win one of 50 double passes closes on December 11, 2022, with full details here.

Doors open at 5pm with the show commencing at 5.45pm.
