Keen to see how the best of the west stands up against the rest?
The Crafty Pint is heading back to The DTC for another blind tasting – the first since COVID arrived – but with a twist...
Rather than lining up a bunch of beers in the same style, this time we're pitting a stack of IPAs from WA brewers against IPAs from the other Aussie states.
Over three rounds – hazies, West Coasts and big IPAs – you'll get to taste flights of beers blind. Each round will feature two of the best examples from WA and two from elsewhere for you to score on their merits.
Then, once we collect your scores at the end, not only will we be able to declare the winners from each round as well as an overall champion, we'll also be able to see if the West can beat The Rest!
The event kicks off at 6.30pm on August 18 at The DTC in Vic Park – and we'll have some special guests along on the night: FOUND. driving force Steve Finney for a chat about that epic upcoming project, and Travis Moore from Phat Brew Club ahead of the opening of their brewpub later this year.
Tickets cost $49pp – or just $25pp for members of The Crafty Pint's beer club, The Crafty Cabal*.
This includes all IPA flights, nibbles during the event, shared platters once the scoring is done, and a welcome beer on arrival. And there will be prizes on the night too.
*If you're quick, you can join our beer club here and claim a double pass for the Friday night session at Froth Town as a welcome gift!
