Make beer, not war.
That's the main message coming out of Thebarton this week as The Wheaty prepares to launch their version of 'RESIST', the Ukrainian Anti-Imperial Stout which has been brewed all over the world as a gesture of solidarity with the brewers of Ukraine and in aid of the #DrinkersforUkraine fundraising campaign
The beer itself is billed as a "strong, smooth, roasty 7.4% Ukrainian Anti-Imperial Stout with roast beetroot" and it'll be pouring three ways: regular tap, on nitro, and on handpump. Yum.
Exactly 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale of the beer will go to Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors without Borders.
Adding to the great company on the day, Small World Bakery will be set up in the Bar, LOBO is releasing a special label edition Apple & Pear Cider, the El Diablo and Taco Cat food trucks will be parked out front from 2pm, Hana will be playing live in the Front Bar from 3.30pm, followed by Yellow Blue Bus in the Tin Shed from 4.30pm to 7pm, and Graham Wright's World Famous Fundraising Auction will be in the Front Bar at 7.30pm.
Prints of the OPIR/RESIST launch poster, designed by Hana Brenecki, will also be available to purchase on the day.
