Brewers wanting to pit their beers against their peers can enter the Royal Queensland Food and Wine Show (RQFWS) Beer Awards.
Submissions for the 2022 awards are open from November 8, 2021, until , after which a team of brewers, sensory experts and industry figures will award trophies across 15 categories.
"Award recipients can gain national recognition and the Grand Champion will also receive a $5,000 bursary thanks to Lion,” said RQFWS Beer Advisory Group member and judge Steve Henderson.
“All entrants receive objective feedback on their beers which helps them to benchmark their production and quality systems in their brewery."
The RQFWS has extended its 2021 offer of free inbound freight for breweries to include South Australia and West Australia, in addition to New South Wales and Victoria. The organisers are also offering entrants free 30 litre keg hire.
The RQFWS Beer Awards were reinvigorated in 2019 after a five-year hiatus, with Rallings Labels, Stickers and Packaging the new presenting partner for 2022.
Deadline for entries is February 4, 2022, with judging taking place from February 28 ahead of an awards presentation on March 2.
