While you could make a strong case to say that every day is the best day to visit Staves Brewery, you could argue that the actual best day to visit Staves Brewery is when they celebrate the Winter Solstice.
That's because it's the day when the Glebe gem turns each and every one of its taps over to a dark (or dark-ish) beer of some form or another.
This year marks the fifth edition of the event and it'll feature seven house-brewed beers and a handful of guest from other breweries; think stouts, rauchs, brown ales, black IPA, dubbels, dark sour, oak-aged and anything in between – all perfect fodder for the depths of winter.
Doors will be open midday to midnight and you don't need a ticket to get in, but it tends to get rather busy, so best get in early.
