Spend time in WA's beer community and it doesn't take long to realise there's plenty of home state pride in their local brewers.
Now, with the state as close to normality as anywhere in Australia – they've held two large beer festivals, after all – the WA Brewers Association is hosting a celebration of local beer at The Dutch Trading Co (DTC).
The Drink West Fest is a weekend long celebration from October 29 to November 1 taking over the 22 taps at the Vic Park venue.
WABA president Andy Scade sees it as a way to support the industry and bring beers from all over the state to be enjoyed in one location.
“We want people to be able to enjoy the diversity of WA’s beers – we’ve got incredible breweries all over the state making world class beer," he says of the event that follows the Drink West Drink Best mixed cartons sold via BWS and Dan Murphy’s.
“The mixed carton allows you to take a journey around WA, support local and experience some of the best producers the state has to offer," Andy says.
“We see the Drink West Fest as another great way to explore WA beer, especially for those people who may not have stepped into the world of craft beer before."
The event will also feature raffles, prizes, food specials, bar shouts and more. Entry is free.
