When a festival boasts being Australia's longest running, original beer festival, it's hard to stay away.
On February 29 - that magical day that only exists once every leap year - BeerFest is returning to Melbourne. Spend a day indulging your senses with beer and bites and music and masterclasses.
Expect more beers than you can poke a stick at, including old favourites, special releases and exclusive festival brews. You'll find more than enough options with hoppy hazies from the likes of Hop Nation and Modus Operandi, crazy creations from Dainton and Moon Dog, summer brews from Gage Roads in Perth, twangy sours from Ballistic in Brisbane, and southern newcomers St Andrews Beach Brewery. You'll also be able to get your lips around Art vs Science vs Beer, a hazy summer session ale collaboration beer by Burnley Brewing and Art vs Science, made just for the festival.
All in all, there'll be over 300 beers, ciders, cocktails, wines and spirits from over 50 producers. Pace yourselves.
Throw in a truckload of local street eats, live music headed up by Art vs Science, live comedy shows, roving entertainment, family friendly kids' entertainment, masterclasses and live demonstrations, food pairings and tastings, and it's going to be a magical day.
Plus, if you're one of the special people whose birthday is on February 29, simply show your ID at the ticket box on the day and you'll get a free ticket and gift from the Melbourne Beerfest team.
