Helios Brewing's head brewer Charlie Hodgson has been in the wine and beer industry for two decades, and in that time he's picked up an awful lot.
From his first vintage in early 2000 to the start of his formal brewing education in 2005; from brewing as part of a team at Gage Roads and Mash Brewing to running the brewhouse at Helios; from ten years of brewing in Western Australia that included a stream of medals and awards (Charlie's the man responsible for the 2014 Champion Australian Beer, Mash's Copycat), to what is now his third year brewing in Queensland, turning heads with his beers at Helios.
Head to Helios for Charlie's double decade celebration – a weekend of food trucks, live music, a tap lineup including limited varieties of Helios beers, and the launch of Helios' latest beer to go into can.
If you really want to make the most of Charlie's experience in the industry, there's a special tasting session on Friday night from 7pm.
Tickets to that include a beer on arrival, and Charlie will take you through a tasting session, including the new canned beer (to be revealed on the weekend). There'll also be a Q & A on his 20 year career.
