Chicken Beer Takes Flight In Bendigo!

Given the end point we've reached, it will come as little surprise this whole endeavour started out as a joke.

The team at Flight Bar & Bottleshop is good mates with the crew behind regional Victorian brewery Cornella Real and, while the latter was in the former's shop brainstorming beer ideas, they joked about combining what they were each best known for: chicken and beer.

The obvious answer would have been to put on an event based around beer can chicken or maybe even adding a beer braised dish to the menu. But no, they decided to brew a chicken beer.

In the end, rather than the cock ale that's been known to appear at Bacchus, they instead decided to see how chicken salt would go in a gose. And we're told the answer is "surprisingly drinkable" or "oddly smashable".

The collaborators will be at Flight on June 23 to launch the beer. Join them for what they're describing as "the inevitable collaboration between chicken shop and brewery."
