Last year, as part of South Australia's History Festival, the Wheaty Brewing Corp, South Australia's Maritime Museum curator Dr Adam Paterson and microbiologist Dr Paul Gooding joined forces to deep dive into the grog of the sea.
The evening was filled with historical tidbits about the ocean's boozy history and the Wheaty's Jade Flavell (pictured) brewed Shiploads Porter for the occasion, a beer that went on to pick up a gold medal at the Craft Beer Awards.
With 2018's History Festival upon them, those three have combined forces again for a night of oceanic beer stories that will feature an ale brewed just for the occasion. This time it won't be a porter, but instead expect something paler, hoppier and built for a passage.
The event sold out last year so bookings are essential.
