October 13th 5:00pm
Maybe we've been watching too many zombie/outbreak movies, but it feels somewhat disconcerting about learning that the people behind Old Wives Ales have been experimenting with bacteria and then have chosen the most traditionally sinister day on the calendar, Friday the 13th, to release their creation into the world. Hmmm…
Anyhow, the new beer is Lactohop, a monster mashup of lactobacillus and hops; in other words, a kettle soured pale ale featuring Vic Secret hops. The beer, they say, is pale, hazy and tart with flashes of lemon, lime and tropical fruit and you can be first to try it when they launch it from 5pm this Friday at the rejuvenated Dan O’Connell Hotel.
There’ll also be a range of other Old Wives Ales beers pouring, plus the OWA team will be along to have a chat and buy a few beers.
