Tinnie Party at Modus Operandi (NSW)

Few things have done more to change the literal face of beer in recent years than the humble beer can. This once denigrated piece of packaging has fairly swiftly quickly become the choice de jour for brewers and consumers across Australia, and indeed the world. As a result, one thing is for certain: cracking a tinnie doesn't mean drinking cheap swill like it used to.

And this event is a neat encapsulation of how things have shifted. Here you have six breweries, many of which are perennial award winners at competitions across the land and stone cold favourites any other time, bringing their tins together to raise money for a worthy cause.

Mona Vale's Modus Operandi will be your host, with company from Balter, Batch Brewing, Green Beacon, Feral and Pirate Life, for a day of live music, live art installations, plentiful food, prizes and a mountain of great canned beer.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the pirates of Sea Shepherd who'll be using it to try and prevent the incessant pillaging of the ocean's rapidly reducing bounty.

It's a ticketed entry event with two sessions, one at 12pm at the other at 5:15pm. Spaces are limited and likely to fill quickly, so book your spot promptly here. The ticket price gets you a cold can of your choice on arrival.
