New England Brewing Co have long had an IPA as part of their core range; in their earlier years, the Hop Cannon spawned a series of variations on the IPA theme too. These days, that role is played by Truckload, an IPA with one foot in Australia and one in the US when it comes to conception: Enigma and Vic Secret hops from the former, Centennial and Mosaic from the latter.
While it pours pale and hazy, it's very much inspired by American IPAs of a past era rather than the juice bombs of today too: lean grapefruit, lemon and limey aromas lead the way in a direct manner, while their expression on the palate is piney, pithy, and smotheringly resinous. Add in a lingering bitterness and you've got an IPA for those who like 'em the way they used to be.
