It’s been another very off-kilter year and before it’s out, Temple Brewing have looked to capture it with the Alice In Wonderland-inspired artwork of Raspberry Lime Tea Party. The beer’s a collaboration with Oriental Teahouse, which operate multiple restaurants in Melbourne with a devotion to dumplings, yum cha, other traditional Chinese food and flavourful drinks. The beer is based on their Raspberry & Lime Tea, with the Brunswick East brewery capturing that hot drink in a cold can by including those two fruits along with hibiscus.
As your travel down the rabbit hole, the first flavours to hit are a jammy or slightly cordial-like raspberry, which are joined by more floral, potpourri tones and some zesty lime. Although jam and cordial might make you think sweet, Raspberry Lime Tea Party is a long way from there, instead, it’s more rich with that balanced against the beer’s underlying sourness.
