Put the words "double", "juicy" or "hazy" together with IPA and you'll instantly get plenty of beer fans' attention. Pop all three together and, well, you've got the latest in Bad Shepherd's IPA Series. Not only have they gone with Double Juicy Hazy but they've also popped it inside a rather appealing can decorated with multi-coloured hops and raised golden letters. But does what's inside live up to the promise?
It certainly looks the goods, pouring a hazy copper with a dense white head. And there's a hefty aroma to welcome you in too: passionfruit crême, young mango and nectarine leading the way. That green mango and young stonefruit character persists on the palate too, where the hefty hop additions also bring a grassiness into play, not to mention a bitterness that takes a firmer grip with every sip, ensuring the "IPA" part of the title isn't smothered by the rest.
