Banks Brewing have a long-held love for hoppy and snappy beers and, as we work our way through summer, they’ve delivered two together. Sunnyside is a Pacific IPA that pours with a golden orange haze and was built with some of the Southern Hemisphere’s finest hops in Galaxy, Nectaron and Motueka. As a result, it’s a beer that delivers stonefruit aplenty with nectarine and peach competing for prime position on the palate. Super soft, there’s also a juicy touch of guava and light pine while the softest bitterness carries through on the finish.
Meanwhile, Coast Life continues the brewery’s quest to perfect West Coast pilsners. While such a journey might never really have an end, their approach with Coast Life is to combine Citra, Krush and Mosaic Cryo. An incredibly clean and lean beer, the hops are left to star: mandarin and blood orange sharing the stage with a gentle tropical touch. If your thrills come from pils with plenty of hops, then a life filled with Coast is certainly the way to go.
