Good Land Brewing have turned their release schedule up to eleven to see out the year, with the Traralgon brewers dropping no less than five beers in quick succession. We’ll cover some of the bigger and more adjunct-laden beers in a separate post, but for now, here are the ones that are more about the hops.
Starting from leanest to thickest, Uno Birra is an Italian pilsner; dry-hopped lagers that tend to feature more traditional, Old World-style hops rather than those from America, Australia or New Zealand. Here, Good Lands have picked Saphir, which is a German variety released this century and well-bred for traditional lagers and other Euro beer styles. In Uno, it brings a distinct herbal bouquet and spice alongside quite a perfumey citrus zest, while a bready malt backbone and soft bitter balance make for pure summer refreshment.
Ixnay On The IPA is a California IPA that features Centennial and the freshly-named Krush in Cryo form. Like the aforementioned lager, it’s plenty crisp while having the slightest sweet touch. That hoppy combo brings pineapple candy, sticky orange, berry and a whole load of resin with a bitter finish. Speaking of loving IPAs, Electric Dream Factory is an oat cream IPA conjured up with Strata, Peacharine and Riwaka. The result is a cloud-like beer that bursts with peach, mandarin, grapefruit and a tropical dank hit akin to walking through a vape store back when they were a little less illegal.
