My shirt is stuck to my back, my vitamin D pills are irrelevant, and there’s a four-pack of 7th Day sours on my doorstep; oh yeah, that warm weather is here. Brewed with blood orange and apricot, Sunburn Sour pours warm and pale, opaque and reminiscent of a thick oat cream IPA. The white head hangs around a while for a sour and holds fruit fly-enticing aromas of the bittersweet/furry fruity additions.
On the tongue, Sunburn packs peach sweetness balanced by the tart blood orange. With full carbonation, the tangy profile of this sour stretches refreshingly around your whole mouth, right to the side of your gums. The finish is lingering, with a little saltiness that encourages repeated sipping; presumably the brewers suspected this might happen as it's just 1.2 standard drinks per can.
Perfect to enjoy alongside some pork sausages with that obscure chutney you got in a Chrissy gift pack last year.
