Beerfarm are heroes of haze in WA’s South West, now years deep into perfecting both their Royal Haze IPA and Hazy Standard mid-strength offering, a duo that has given the Metricup brewery a well-deserved strong reputation in the juicy, hazy arena.
Now, they've added a third such beer to their core range, one that lands conveniently between Royal Haze and Hazy Standard. Labelled as simply Hazy Pale, registers a modest 4.6 percent ABV, possibly quelling the concerns of many modern drinkers who crave the haze but not so much the next day daze.
Hazy Pale looks like a cloudy tropical juice with an awesome, dense white head. Sweet navel orange and mandarin are clear on the nose with some lemon verbena, passionfruit and earthy hop notes in support. The mouthfeel is rounded with slight malt sweetness backing medium bitterness. Textbook juiciness and a clean, short finish with mixed-citrus notes and a touch of grassy hop character persist.
While having a core ranging with three separate hazy beers speaks of confidence from the Beerfarm brewers, they do have haze-loving beer fans in the palm of their hand.
