We don’t value the benefits of a nice sit-down nearly enough. It’s the new smoking, doctors will tell us but what about the rewards it brings? What about the comfort at the end of a long day? Bowden Brewing’s Long Sit Lager is a beer ready for the end of any long day and lives up to the idea that patience is a virtue. The Adelaide brewery ensured it had plenty of time to sit in the tank (so much so it got a numb bum, they tell us) and the result is a beer of pure joy. Put your feet up and crack into it and you’ll find soft, bready and dry biscuit tones, a tiny floral tune, and a crisp and clean finish. Sit well and drink lager, friends, it can be good for you (this is not medical advice).
Whether you continue to sit or choose to stand, Bowden also have the fruit-heavy Peach and Guava Seasonal Sour that uses plenty of puree from both fruits and Mosaic and Cascade to ensure there’s certainly plenty of ripe flavours to discover. The peach, in particular, comes across like a fresh bit of fruit plucked from a tree that’s been soaking in the sun, while guava adds a sweet juiciness to the proceedings. The tartness, meanwhile, comes in more like it’s from a sour lolly, and we’re talking about eating Warheads in the past, back before your palate matured and you found them zippy enough to take note and brag to your friends that you managed to eat two in a row.
