Do you love big, drinkable IPAs? Sean Nolan certainly does. Who’s Nolan? He’s a good mate of Slumdog Brewing’s founder, Al Carragher, and a man who doesn’t just love big IPAs but whose face adorned a triple IPA that Slumdog launched at Froth Town. We can't speak for the man himself but Nolan's IIIPA the beer features a largely American blend of Cascade, Cryo Citra, and Mosaic, with Freestyle’s Kohia Nelson from New Zealand (if you'd like to learn more about what terms like Cryo and Kohia mean, check out our recently published feature).
Sure, the beer might be 10.0 per cent ABV, but good luck finding all that booze, with Nolan's IIIPA being an incredibly drinkable affair, thanks to its incredibly lean body and lovely combination of grapefruit rind, fleshy orange, pine, and a gentle wave of tropical fruit. Sure, you might find a bit of warmth on the back of the palate, but only enough to assume you’re drinking a DIPA rather than a TIPA.
